I just got my dad's old Marantz 1070 out of the shop and got it restored completely. In the meantime I found a great deal on a Marantz Sr 6200 Av Reciever. Can I use the 1070 as a preamp and integrate it in with my home theater system for my music? I've never run two amps before and I'm not really sure how to do it. I'd really like to use this amp in my setup since it holds sentimental value for my late pops.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the nostalgia of vintage stereo equipment, but I think you are going about this wrong. The amp section in your sr6200 is much more robust. You should be using it to drive your speakers.Frankly, there is no need for the 1070 in your system, but if you want to incorporate it then hook your speakers back up to the sr6200 and run RCA cables from one of the Tape Out jacks on the 1070 to any line level input on the sr6200. Your 1070 will then function as a pre-amp and you can run sources into the 1070 or use its tuner and pass that signal on to the sr6200.Again, there is really no need for the extra complication caused by adding the 1070, but the way you are running it now makes even less sense to me.

The only reason I dropped back off 5 stars overall is.
If you had a turntable then I would set it up as I advise and connect the turntable to the 1070 as the sr6200 does not appear to have a phono input (at least from my quick goolge image search of the back panel). Let's take a step back first. An AVR is basically a pre-amp and an amp in 1 box (plus a tuner). ANY input on an AVR is going to be a Pre-Amp Input! Game warriors orochi z pc rip. Unless you have some jumpers in the back that have are pre-amp out/Amp in, then we have a slightly different animal here.Looking at the manual for the 6200, you have these as available pre-amp inputs:AudioAnalog In(CD, Tape, CDR/MD, VCR1,DSS/VDR2, TV, DVD, AUX)It doesn't seem that you have 7 Ch inputs on the 6200. It doesn't matter in the slightest because the 1070 is only 2 Channels anyway. If you insist on hooking these up together, then I will let someone else make the explanation. I stick by my previous comment-Hooking these up together gains you nothing and adds complexity.Go for another separate system on the 1070.
